Wellll...
The night before I'm going to a dance type thing... and on Halloween itself, I'm WORKING. Exciting stuff - I'm gonna be what I am every year - a Psychiatric Nurse. (I have all the clothes / costume already!)

Well, I take care of psychiatric patients when they become acutely ill, suicidal, psychotic, homicidal, etc.
Until the beginning of this year, I worked on an acute psychiatric unit, and I really liked that job a lot because we got to see people get well after they had come onto the unit VERY impaired. The job I have now is a crisis stabilization unit, which means I have up to 23 hours to figure out what it will take to stabilize a person and get them the support they need to get them through whatever crisis they have presented with. My preference is to work with people who have severe mental illnesses, because we can really help these folks A LOT nowadays. The difference in dress between my old job and this job? At my old job, I wore a nursing uniform. At this job, I am currently wearing Levi's, black boots, and a pink embroidered blouse.
(I probably won't dress up for Halloween - I was being silly.) |

What's your favorite comfort food? Ummmmm.... if I'm not cooking it or doing the dishes afterwards - that is my
favorite comfort food.
What's your favorite ice cream? "Moose Tracks." Do you like HOUSE, MD? I have to confess, I have never watched it. Did you read the Twilight series? Um... never heard of it. I'm currently reading a collection of short stories written by Charles Bukowski (The most Beautiful Woman in Town) and another book written by Thich Nhat Hanh (The Heart of the Buddha's Teachings.) What's your favorite Billy Joel song? Wow. Welllll... Man. Guess you'd hate my iPod. When's the last time you were at the beach? About a month ago, I went to San Gregorio Beach, which is south of San Francisco and just south of Half Moon Bay. I have some nice photos at home (I am at work right now....) The only photo I have on my Photobucket account PROBABLY isn't suitable for posting here. My mom and I found out that SOME of the beach people used the far end of this beach as "Clothing Optional..." So I had to take ONE picture.

If you were given the power to change one thing about the world, what would you change? I think I said something like this: I would give people the ability to recognize that we can actually live together with compassion for one another. (I think "Tolerating" each other is a lot different than having compassion for each other... so I prefer to say... "Have compassion for your fellow human being - all any of us really want is to be happy.) I could be wrong, of course. |
